An anthology about musicals… with a twist.

Who can resist a musical?

We at Wayward Ink certainly can’t!

Boys and Girls, go don your tux. Slink into your gown. Strap on your heels. Dust off that tiara and wrap yourselves in a feather boa!

Come celebrate the extravaganza with us!

Waltz through ten short stories inspired by some of the world’s most popular musicals. Continue reading

Please welcome Kay Ellis to the Land of Make Believe today.  Kay is here to talk about her new release, Young at Heart, which was just released by Wayward Ink Press.

Welcome Kay, let’s start by telling everyone a bit about yourself.

There’s really not much to tell. I’m so ordinary it’s embarrassing! I stopped counting birthdays years ago and consider myself ‘ageless’ but I’m old enough to have two grown up daughters. I’m a bit of a loner, a bit OCD and a bit of a control freak! Have I sold myself yet???

Your latest book is Young at Heart, take a minute to talk about it.

I love the characters of Devon and Jesse. Devon is an older man, rich and successful, but I think he’s probably led a sheltered life. He’s not the best judge of character and he’s easily swayed by his mother and his friend Antonio. His on/off relationship with Jesse, who happens to be half his age, is the heart of the story. Jesse is a loveable rogue type but quite vulnerable. I hope I got that across in the book. Continue reading

Selfies From Orlando

Every year Dreamspinner Press has an Workshop for its authors. Each year more and more people attend.  Last year, in Portland, I started taking selfies with people. So I continued the ‘tradition’ this year.

I’ve been meaning to post these since Christmas, but I’ve been busy so here is a couple months of pictures.  Including Christmas Eve, Christmas Morning, Christmas at Grandma Caryl’s, Christmas at Grandma Merry’s, New Year’s Day, a Snow Day, Valentine’s Day baking, Swim Class, and Emma’s Birthday – Whew.

Who’d have thought being stranded at the airport could possibly have some long term benefits? Certainly not Tom. But then he hadnít bargained on meeting Rafael… Continue reading

An Interview With Sue Brown

Welcome Sue. Since this is my first time interviewing you, start by telling everyone a bit about yourself.

Thank you for having me on your blog. I’m a mum of two teenagers and two dogs. They rule the house. I do what I’m told. I took a theology and religious studies degree five years ago and started MM romance about the same time. The degree certainly influenced my earlier stories. Now I’m working part-time for a publisher and trying to get back to writing on a regular basis. Continue reading

The Next Call; by Sue Brown

NextCall[The]FSMark Grayson volunteers for an LGBT helpline, the same one that helped him through his teenage years. One day he takes a call from “Ricky,” a suicidal man being forced into a marriage he doesn’t want. For weeks Mark talks to Ricky and provides support, but he’s frustrated by the lack of information Ricky provides and the decisions he’s making. In the meantime, Mark starts a relationship with another volunteer. Then tragedy strikes and Mark takes time away from the helpline, but when he comes back, Ricky is waiting. Mark realizes Ricky is stronger than before and their relationship changes, but Mark isn’t sure what their future holds if their relationship is destined to be at the end of the phone.
